When I looked at the weather forecast the day before Ray & Jen's wedding it said there was a 100% chance of rain... all. day. I knew their outdoor ceremony would be moved underneath a pavilion, but I also knew there was still a good chance my camera and I would have to be out in the rain; so I promptly went out and bought a rain jacket for my camera– and it definitely came in handy!
I arrived before the ladies returned from getting their hair done and I set to work on all the lovely details. When the girls arrived I was so happy to see that Jen wasn't frazzled at all by the weather– it's a tough pill for any bride to swallow; but she had the best attitude possible. We were going to make the best of it because this is the day we were given– this was her wedding day. I was so proud of her for not letting the torrents take away her joy!
Ray & Jen have been together for the last eight years; and how truly beautiful it was to witness them sealing their commitment to each other on this special day. They were surrounded by adoring family and friends who were so ready to celebrate with them the love that they have found in each other.
Ray & Jen– Thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me capture and record your wonderful wedding day! I wish you all the love and happiness in the world– I'm so very happy for you! Enjoy a few of my favorites!
Jen is a teacher and they used rulers from her classroom for the handles of these fans– so cute!
Jen walked down the isle on her father's arm to an instrumental of, "You are my Sunshine"... how perfectly adorable!
During their wedding consultation Jen & Ray expressed how important the bride & groom portraits were to them (yay!); so when the rains let up a bit immediately following the ceremony, we made the quick decision to rearrange our schedule by delaying bridal party photos and grabbing some quick portraits of the two of them on site. I'm so glad we did! I usually feel like gazebos are a bit clichè and I don't often choose to use them in photographs, but I really liked the whimsy of this one... it was just perfect! Side note: I was a hot mess standing in the rain with my rain jacket and boots for these photos! If I had a behind the scenes photo of this scenario I would totally show you, haha!
Jen & Ray– you were such a dream to photograph!!
I love so many from this series– below is definitely one of my favorites!
And the one on the left!
The rains were pretty much over once all of the major events happened at the reception, so we stole away for 10 or 15 minutes to collect some more portraits! Again– so glad we did!
Jen– you are the most beautiful bride!
And a night shot to cap our evening.
